We map Denmark, develop digital solutions, and create a secure data foundation to support the green transition and climate adaptation. Our data and solutions are part of a larger climate data ecosystem, benefitting stakeholders and partners.
Green Transition
The Danish Agency for Climate Data's data sets and digital solutions support the green transition by providing knowledge for informed decisions. Data helps us visualise and simulate the effects of different green measures and optimise energy use.
We also use data to support the dissemination of new green technologies.
Climate Adaptation
Climate adaptation is crucial for Denmark, facing challenges like extreme rainfall, rising sea levels, and groundwater levels.
The Danish Agency for Climate Data uses extensive geographical data and collaborates with other authorities to develop solutions for climate adaptation. This includes the world’s most accurate elevation model and data detailing water flow.
We also operate a network of measuring stations in Greenland, providing crucial data on ice sheet melt.
Data Security
The Danish Agency for Climate Data produces and distributes basic data, ensuring authorities and businesses have access to current, correct information. We continuously strengthen the security of our data and its distribution infrastructure.
The Agency also helps reduce the risk of disruptions to essential services like electricity and internet by managing The Register of Underground Cable Owners, which maps underground cables and pipes.
Data and Map Products for Key Services
The Danish Agency for Climate Data delivers data and map products to the Danish Armed Forces and The Emergency Management, supporting their critical tasks.
