The Importance of Standardised Addresses
Addresses are vital to society, and it’s crucial to have a standardised, authoritative register that everyone can rely on.
We use addresses for navigation, postal delivery, and, most importantly, to summon help in emergencies. Each address is also associated with an access point, indicating the primary entrance – a critical detail for emergency responders.
Historically, different authorities maintained their own address registers, often leading to inconsistencies. For example, an apartment might be designated "1. tv." in one register and "1. sal, dør 1" in another.
